North Korea has verified it has test-fired a new “tactical guided weapon” with a very “powerful warhead”, such kind of test was first since talks between President Trump and Kim Jong-un ended without agreement.
State media gave little details, but analysts say this is unlikely to be a return to the long-range missile tests which pose as a threat to the US.
A similar test last November was seen as an attempt to pressure the US.
There has been very little development in nuclear talks since the last summit.
Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un met sometime in February, in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi to discuss denuclearisation, but discussions broke down and both leaders left abruptly.
